Job Summary: 
Owensboro Community and Technical College is hiring two full-time Clinical Nursing Instructor positions. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Nursing Clinical Instructor is responsible for conducting clinical education experiences that align with didactic instruction. This role supports student development of technical nursing skills and ensures achievement of course competencies through high-quality clinical instruction. This is a 10-month, full-time faculty position requiring on-site presence three days per week, with twelve-hour shifts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
The duties/responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to coordinate clinical education experiences that align with didactic content and support student learning.
  • Provide high-quality clinical instruction and conduct evaluations to promote excellence in nursing education.
  • Support the Director of Nursing in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining clinical faculty committed to student success.
  • Stay current with the nursing curriculum and required competencies, integrating evidence-based practices, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Actively participate in nursing faculty meetings, College Assembly, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist nursing faculty and staff in ensuring student compliance with clinical facility requirements.
  • Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating integrity, compassion, and excellence in nursing practice.
  • Design and manage clinical rotation schedules to optimize student learning and facility collaboration.
  • Identify and assess potential healthcare facilities to expand and enrich clinical learning opportunities for students.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds and walk frequently demonstrates the ability to squat, stoop, bend, push, and pull as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission and goals of the nursing program.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to support instruction and collaboration.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or a compact state with multi-state privileges is required.
  • Minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience (within the past five years) is required.
  • Must maintain personal compliance with clinical facility requirements, such as CPR certification and TB screening.
  • A graduate degree in nursing or a related field must be obtained within five years of hire.
  • Graduate-level nursing (MSN) degree is strongly preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred and valued.
