Accounting Assistant I

JOB TITLE:                       Accounting Assistant I – Floor

 

DUTIES AND

REQUIREMENTS:           Under general supervision, Accounting Assistant I, performs a variety of clerical and data entry duties.  This role will understand how the property tax levy process works, the roles of other County Departments and how they affect the levy, and how to calculate interest and costs correctly. This role has the ability to work with other County Departments and understand their importance/roles in the tax cycle process, learn how to calculate and identify the different parts of a property tax bill, and learn to identify how tax payments are applied.  This position has the ability to learn and understand rules and legislation that affect the property tax process. 

 

High School Diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED) required. Associate’s degree, preferred. Two (2) years of experience in customer service, office experience or banking. Any combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience, is acceptable for consideration for this position. Lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds and successfully pass a lifting assessment. Type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute and successfully pass a typing assessment. Spanish Speaking, preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and minimum liability insurance required by law.

SALARY RANGE:             $18.7272/hour (Starting Compensation (Step 1)) - $20.6763/hour (Top of range (Step 6)) Non-Exempt Union https://willcounty.gov/Open-and-Participatory-Government
