Scientist – Commercial Contract Testing Laboratory
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Scientist to join our independent commercial contract testing laboratory. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of experience looking to build a career in analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical microbiology. You will assist in executing routine compendial testing, operating analytical instrumentation, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical & Compendial Testing: Conduct routine physical, chemical, and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Instrumentation & Maintenance: Prepare volumetric standards, reagents, and mobile phases. Assist with the routine operation, cleaning, and monitoring of laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, autoclaves, and incubators).
Data Log Management: Accurately record raw data, calculation sheets, and test results in laboratory notebooks or electronic data logs.
Quality Compliance: Adhere strictly to quality control guidelines, safety protocols, and standard laboratory biosafety practices.
Qualifications
Education: B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Experience: 0–2 years of laboratory experience. Recent graduates with strong academic laboratory coursework and hands-on wet chemistry or basic microbiology skills are highly encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques (pipetting, dilutions, preparing standards, and aseptic technique) and a strong baseline understanding of linear regression or data tracking spreadsheet tools.
Soft Skills: Keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and strong written communication skills for documentation.
