Internship - Engineering Finance (Contract)

Position Summary:
The Engineering Finance Intern role is responsible for supporting the Engineering Finance team with analytics tools, financial performance analysis, monthly close activities, reporting & invoicing. This position will support the Head of Engineering Controlling and is a shared services role to the Wichita, KS, Mobile, AL and the U.S. Program Management team. The position holder will work in Airbus Financial Information Systems as well as Tableau and Alteryx.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis: 70%
  • Support in the creation of Engineering financial deliverables & Business Cases
  • Monitor AOP (operating plan) targets & KPI's to actuals & perform variance analysis as necessary
  • Proactively contribute to alignment of all Engineering business areas
  • Support headcount reporting & dashboard maintenance
  • Support the Head of Engineering Controlling in adhoc analysis and reporting needs
  • Supports the OP MFT with the creation of the Annual Operating Plans
  • Supports the development of rolling forecasts (FCI, FCII, FCIII) including CbN, headcount, offload, workload, expenditures and hourly rate
  • Supports in the collection of drivers for financial outputs (CEO dashboard, workload assumptions, headcount assumptions, integration, primary, direct and secondary cost accounting and hourly rate)
  • Interfaces with the Business Operations team to provide/gather business/operational data and information for data analysis and reporting
  • Follows the Engineering Controlling Handbook rules and site best practices
Accounting: 30%
  • Prepares site and external work package invoicing, delivery note verification & data validation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
