Emergency Preparedness Summer Intern

Position Summary:
Working within the Executive Office of the Massachusetts Trial Court under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Manager, we are seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual for the summer of 2022 with an interest in the field of emergency preparedness for an internship to assist with projects that will help shape the preparedness posture of courts across the Commonwealth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data collection, assisting with preparing materials for meetings both virtual and in-person, and responding to inquiries from court departments on emergency preparedness initiatives.

Position Requirements:
The following represents a partial list of those duties and responsibilities performed by individuals in this internship. Specific duties may vary:
  • Assist with emergency preparedness planning
  • Contribute to producing materials that can be used for meetings and trainings
  • Assist in the design of drills and exercises
  • Provide detailed meeting notes
  • Assist with meeting coordination pertaining to Continuity Planning
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma, or graduate degree, etc.) from an accredited college or university
Required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Ability to take initiative to propose refinements and improvements to existing workflow processes
