Community Health Promotion Specialist I

The County of San Diego is currently accepting applications for:


 COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTION SPECIALIST I

Interviews will take place the week of October 30, 2023.  Job offers for the selected candidates will be made on or before November 6, 2023.  

Per County rules, this position is eligible for appointment at step 1, $60,528.00 annually.
County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for step placement in accordance with Comp Ord 1.3.5.

FUTURE SALARY INCREASES
 **July 2024 - 3.4% increase to base pay (2.75 % Across-the-Board + 0.65% Market Increase)

Community Health Promotion Specialist I incumbents are responsible for independently planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive public health education, community health education, and health promotion programs.


As a Community Health Promotion Specialist I, you will prepare comprehensive, technical education and health promotion programs and materials for a wide variety of audiences on any number of health topics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency, in public health with a specialization in public health education, community health education or health promotion from a program accredited by the *Council on Education for Public Health (California Code of Regulations, Title 17, Section 1303).
