Information Technology Coordinator (ITC)

Position Summary

This position conducts the planning, approval, research, testing, configuration, licensing, procurement, and installation of hardware and non-standard (program specific) commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software systems for DNR’s Division of Forestry. This also includes being the point person for the corresponding department-wide and enterprise-wide policies and procedures. 

This position ensures that, through business-appropriate hardware, software and service, division staff are equipped to develop, collect, utilize, and share data for the science-based protection and sustainable management of Wisconsin's Forests. 

The customer base for this position is 450-500 division staff, including four central office bureaus and, in collaboration with regional information management specialists, three decentralized Forestry districts. The position is also in a co-leadership role to administer the Division's SharePoint presence.

Job Details

Qualifications

Please ensure the application materials you submit (resume and letter of qualifications) clearly describe your experience related to the stated criteria below:

Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following:

  • Experience installing, updating, supporting and troubleshooting Windows Operating system, computers, peripherals, mobile devices and smartphones and IT accessories (e.g., external hard drives, keyboards, mice, etc.).
  • Experience using PC registry, file management, email distribution list management protocols and/or principals.
  • Experience maintaining and tracking IT asset inventory.

In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following:

  • Experience providing IT customer troubleshooting, support, consultation for a diverse customer base and technical needs.
  • Experience supporting complex IT projects (e.g., Analyzing IT requirements, researching IT hardware/software/tools/services, familiarity with Cloud based software or services, or similar).
  • Experience purchasing and reconciliation of IT assets, peripherals, smart phones, mobile devices, software and accessories.
