The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (DOT)Bureau of Finance and Administration, Inventory Management Unit, is currently recruiting for a Connecticut Careers Trainee position, with a target class of Fiscal/Administrative Officer, located at the Central Warehouse, in Rocky Hill.


 

The Connecticut Careers Trainee program will last 2 years if the candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree or 1 year if the candidate possesses a Master's degree. Upon successful completion of the Connecticut Careers Trainee program, the candidate will be promoted to the target class of Fiscal/Administrative Officer. 


 

*Salary Note: During the first year of training, Connecticut Career Trainees with a Bachelor's degree earn $54,388 per year, and Connecticut Career Trainees with a Master's degree earn $56,354 per year. During the second year of training, the salary increases to $62,233 per year.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Monday - Friday
  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • First shift, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Location: 660 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT

THE ROLE

The individual in this role will receive training in Asset Management work, to develop the skills and knowledge required to qualify for advancement into a Fiscal Administrative Officer.


 

Example of Duties: 

  • Core-CT Financials and Asset Management modules
  • Process Annual Physical Inventory. Connecticut General Statutes require State Agencies to conduct an annual physical inventory of all property, real and personal
  • Process acquisition and disposition of all DOT’s Controllable and Capital Equipment
  • Assist in completing the Asset Management/Inventory Report/CO-59 GAAP Reporting Form
  • Provide Departments with specialized equipment inventory listings and reports
  • Tag equipment, transfer assets, and process inventory documents
  • Process transfers and disposals from the Surplus Warehouse
  • Complete fixed capital asset reports requested by Federal Transit Authority Auditors
  • Responsible for communicating with internal and external customers
  • Review work of lower-level staff
  • Perform related duties as required
