Wireless Test Engineer Intern

Role Overview:

The Wireless Test Engineer Intern will work with our NETGEAR For Business (NFB) business unit. You will be responsible for the quality of NFB WLAN products with primary emphasis on the latest Wi-Fi 6, 6E, and 7 systems. This is a hybrid temporary full-time position, 4 days’ work on-site at our San Jose, CA office and 1 day remote. We currently do not offer relocation assistance. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Creating testcase for new features and executing them.
  • Reproducing customer and field issues
  • Setting up test beds for customer and ISP scenarios
  • Reply to customers questions on forums. 
  • Working with field Beta testers for NPI launches. 
  • Review and Tracking Product ratings across multiple channels. 
  • JIRA/CONFLUENCE updates for reproduce critical security issues reported by CERT/CVE
  • Provide input to technical support and documentation team.
  • Provide feedback on specific features and record all bugs and issues encountered during testing 
  • Maintain and enhance the test-setup including hardware, software, and Test Automation environments

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Student pursuing a MS/BS Computer or Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of computer networking and software engineering.
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi
  • Knowledge of protocols like DHCP, ARP, Static route, firewall, LLDP will be highly desirable. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work efficiently under dynamic deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with different teams across multiple time zones.

Compensation

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $25-$30/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, professional background, business need and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range.
