Operations Engineer Intern

Role Overview:

The Operations Engineer Intern is a temporary full-time hybrid position with 3 days’ work on-site at our San Jose, CA office and 2 days’ remote. We currently do not offer relocation assistance. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Potential project subject to change depending on final relocation dates:

Pack, move, unpack, and deploy the current lab equipment to a new location, ensuring that all equipment is operational in the new lab and with minimal issues to the distribution center (DC) during the transition. If the relocation occurs outside the internship period, the Intern will be responsible for creation and development of rework instructions for the DC globally, to be used by the Test Engineering team. 

 

  • Organize and maintain the Test Lab. 
  • Perform maintenance on Test lab equipment and accessories. 
  • Support the installation and validation of test systems. Prepare test operation instructions and provide training to all relevant personnel. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test station operation, including hardware, test programs, product firmware/hardware changes, and operator training. 
  • Document manufacturing processes, BOM structures, mechanical design reviews, and training to be incorporated into our new knowledge base for the Ops Engineering teams. 
  • Understand rework processes and provide rework instructions. 
  • May require work after 5PM PST due to collaboration across different time zones, but there is flexibility to adjust the work schedule to ensure a maximum of 40 hours per week.

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Student pursuing a MS/BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a major related to internship.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL. 
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IP networking from Layer 1 to 3. 
  • Basic understanding of radiofrequency (RF) principles.  
  • Experience with design software such as Creo. 
  • Understanding of product design and BOM structure.
  • Experience with Agile PLM BOM is preferred. 
  • Familiar with contract manufacturing and ODM operations. 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment across different time zones. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Compensation

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $25-$30/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, professional background, business need and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range.
