Curriculum Support Coordinator
The W. P. Carey School of Business, Graduate Programs Office, is looking for a Curriculum Support Coordinator who can work with others to build and create graduate course schedules, maintain changes and updates, monitor the graduate course catalog, schedule classrooms, and provide student support for online, international and on-campus elective courses. This position is part of a graduate curriculum team reporting to the Assistant Director for GPO Academics.
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and can produce high-quality data analysis, reports, and research to ensure expectations are met within given guidelines, structure, and established policies.
The successful candidate is someone who can work in a diverse environment as part of a team and understands service-centric support with a "how can I help you" business professional approach.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000; to commensurate with education and experience.
Days and Schedule: Days and times vary depending on program schedule and needs, and may require occasional extended work hours, including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends as needed, along with in-state or out-of-state travel. A hybrid schedule is available with approval per the Flex Work Arrangement policy.
Essential Duties:
Scheduling
- In coordination with faculty and administrators, guide the process of deciding who should be teaching which courses, which courses need to be offered when, and how they should be scheduled.
- Review and monitor schedule inputs to proactively identify issues and seek resolution, identify areas of opportunity, and drive scheduling and staffing efficiencies across graduate programs.
- Maintain all course scheduling related systems inputs, including the maintenance of the course schedule each semester in PeopleSoft; the designation of classroom preferences for courses in AdAstra; schedule school conference room and classroom space for courses and special events.
- Input instructor class funding (ICF) into PeopleSoft each semester.
Curriculum
- Manage Graduate Courses catalog and coordinate with faculty on course titles, descriptions, and course hours.
- Understand university processes and requirements and guide faculty and partners through the process, provide advice, and answer questions.
- Complete, review, and track all required forms for new and existing course modifications;
- Provide support for various curricular committees, assist the curriculum leadership in generating specialized reports for submission to executive leadership, and generate reports required for local, state, federal, and accreditation purposes.
- Facilitate curriculum planning sessions, document findings, and report outcomes and next steps.
Reporting
- Coordinate the course evaluation process each semester, run reports using CourseEval system, and help review course evaluations at the end of each semester.
- Run course-related reports (i.e., the schedule of classes and rosters) in My Reports and Analytics for Graduate leadership data review.
- Coordinate the development of data for management, policy studies, and/or research activities.
- Participate on project teams in special studies resulting in recommending solutions or alternatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience within a higher education environment in business and scheduling processes
- Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in work that requires attention to detail and exposure to confidential records
- Experience collecting and using data to inform decisions.
- Experience managing multiple projects, and prioritizing workload with congruent deadlines.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook), Google Drive and ASU computer systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce, etc.)
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree and one (1) year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
