Environmental Scientist

Job Duties/Scope Of Work

At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. As a scientist in Sample Management and Reporting in Soil and Groundwater Operations you will provide support for arrange of environmental projects. Responsibilities include:
* Produce and process technical field sampling documents.
* Assist with water level scheduling and data entry.
* Verification of field and environmental data.
* Determine project analytical requirements and resolve data problems.
* Routinely use the EDIT and Sample and Data Tracking application for data management and as a tool in problem resolution.
* Interface with laboratory and project personnel as a project coordinator for routine and special sampling projects.

Basic Qualifications
* Early Career Level Grade 15: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or related technical degree with 1 or more years of relevant experience
* Intermediate Level Grade 16: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or related technical degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications
* Experience with collection of soil or water samples and collecting field analytical measurements.
* Familiarity with laboratory analysis and terminology.
* Experience with database interaction.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with scientists and engineers to produce technical sampling related documents.
* Experience using Microsoft products proficiently.
* Propensity to understand complex data flow situations.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

* Early Career Level Grade 15: $80,225 - $101,175
* Intermediate Level Grade 16: $88,200 - $111,100

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
